1/17/12 - Already Having a Happy New Year

Congratulations to our NCSA Junior Nationals quailifiers! We also have a qualifying 200 medley relay with Brian Burns who hopes to make his own individual event.

It may be chilly outside, but that shouldn't stop you from going to YoTini's Frozen Yogurt Bar for another TCAC fundraiser! 4-8pm on Wednesday the 19th! Tell everyone you know!

Parents! Looking for a new hobby? Virginia Swimming needs more stroke and turn judges! If you are interested in volunteering your services, please let us know.

11/5/11 - Changes in Pool Schedules

Va Wesleyan has been renting for several year to 2 local High Schools. Therefore, each of the past 2 years that we’ve been using the pool, we have to go through many changes to the schedule in order to accommodate their training schedules and cancelations for their swim meets. Due to these High School Swimming Schedules, we will be changing the Va Wesleyan times for November. Then on December 6th, through part of February, we will be using the Fleet Rec Pool and a new site (Jewish Community Center) for our groups. View the new schedule here.

Swimming for the Green: Lap-a-thon in November

Flower Cards are almost done, we sold 100 cards. We are doing our first Lap-a-Thon, which will be our second fundraiser for the year. We hope this helps families with the fundraising commitments for the year. We would like all swimmers to complete the swim portion. We need parents to help count laps and hand out snacks during the event. If you would like to help out, please contact Coach Dot (Dot@tcacswim.com). We will have an event at both the YMCA and the Va Wesleyan Pools.

Swim Meets up and coming

We have several meets coming up. Meets are necessary to see how our swimmers are doing, see their improvement. We have several motivators for the meets. If a swimmer achieves a new time standard in an event, they will receive that Time Standard patch for that event (for example, BB in a Breast Event). We also have the Gold Cap for swimmers achieving their first A time and the AA, AAA and AAAA Black Caps.

10/26/11 - Active Network Registration

We are now prepared to begin using our online system. As previously announced at the beginning of the season, we will be setting up an online system for registering and handling your accounts. We will be using the Active Network, which you can log in to through this link. We ask that each swimmer/member complete the online registration by November 4th! Registration will only take a few minutes. Parents will be able to register multiple children, and handle meet entries and payments through the account. Payments can be made online using your credit cards and debit cards, or you can continue to pay by check.

As this is a new system and we are registering in the middle of our season, we ask that you please follow the guide below to register your swimmer(s):
1.) Each swimmer must be registered. Start with the oldest child and continue chronologically to the youngest swimmer.
2.) Every swimmer will have 2012 USA registration added with the online registration. Swimmers new to the team this year were not charged this fee with the paper registration, we were holding it off until this point.
3.) A one time fee to Active Network will be assessed that will go towards creating the website and registration. The fee is $10 for the first swimmer, and $5 for subsequent swimmers in the family.
4.) EVERYONE is registering for the 2nd quarter. Your previous balance will be added after we complete the registration process. All September dues, 1st quarter fundraising commitments, and fall meet fees; as well as payments we have received will be updated to the account.
5.) One question asks if you have been a member of TCAC before, you should select YES. This will prevent you from being charged as a "brand new" swimmer.
6.) All meet sign ups will be done through Active Network.
7.) Any questions about the process, charges to the account, groups, meet entries, or other concerns can be forwarded to Coach Penny or Coach Jay.
8.) Please complete your registration by November 4th.
