3/27/12 - A New Poseidon Adventure

We will be attending the first of many meets in the new Poseidon pool (GRAP) in Richmond, April 20-22. This is "local" because there will no longer be meets at the Fleet Rec pool and no other meets held until June1st. This new Greater Richmond Area Pool is a great new facility which features the actual pool from the 2008 Olympic Trials. There will undoubtedly be many more meets at this location in the future.

There will be a group of swimmers 13 & older that can go with team. We will be traveling up on Saturday morning, staying Saturday night and returning Sunday afternoon when the session is over. 12 & youngers will need to travel with parents, they swim both morning sessions. Swimmers may travel with parents; the trip is about 90 minutes and can be made up and back both days or swimmers may elect to swim just one day of meet. We realize that TCAC is taking our Spring Break April 6-15, and the meet is the following week. But due to limit of meets near us, swimmers should use this opportunity to get times for long course, while swimming in a high quality venue. Entries will be emailed into Poseidon by April 4th. 3/13/12 - Spring Scheduling

Wesleyan practices begin tomorrow! We will be at Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4-6 for the Senior Group, 4:30-6 for the Blue Group, 4-5 for the Red Group, and 5-6 for the White Group.

Fleet Rec will continue to have practices on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday until the end of the month. Weekend practices will continue through Spring.

Spring Break is almost here! April 6-15 we will not be having practices. We will return to the pool on the 16th.

The SEVA Head start meet (March 24-25) invitation is available. Please send in your entries IMMEDIATELY if you are going. Let's get a jump on those long course times!

Congratulations to our Age Group Champs swimmers [ Robert Burke, Greg Hubbard, Jessica Mazzeo, Colin Shepard, Olivia Tillet ] and our Senior Champs swimmers [ Adam Barley, Brian Burns, Deion Dean, Zac Paryzek, Eric Wolf ]! We had some great swims and a great season. The season isn't over yet for Brian, Deion, Zac, and Austin Temple, who will be flying to Orlando, Florida for NCSA Junior Nationals! Good luck guys!

3/5/12 - News Update

Practices at Virginia Wesleyan will begin next week, on Tuesday the 13th. We will have practices Tuesdays and Thursdays only: 4-6pm Seniors, 4:30-6pm Blue, 4-5pm Red, and 5-6pm White Group. [changed 3/7]

We will be discontinuing Morning practices on Tuesday the 13th as well. This week we will only have Tuesday and Thursday at the YMCA 5:30-6:45, no Wednesday morning.

We will need a quick turnaround on meet entries for the SEVA Long Course Meet on March 24-25. Please get those ready!

2/15/12 - District Warm Ups

Saturday: (10&U) 7:55-8:20am, (11&O) 12:30-1pm
Sunday: (10&U) 7:55-8:20am, (11&O) 12:30-1pm

Regional entries are now closed. If you want to enter, there is an extra $10 fee per event (unless you make a time cut in the event at Districts this weekend).

As a reminder, afternoon practice at Fleet Rec is cancelled on Saturday.

2/6/12 - Championship Meets

Please make sure you get your entries in for the District Champs meet by WEDNESDAY 2/8/12, or there is a $10 late fee per event. Also, get in your entries for Regional Champs the following weekend.

1/17/12 - Already Having a Happy New Year

Congratulations to our NCSA Junior Nationals quailifiers! Austin Temple (50/100br), Deion Dean (50/100br), and Zac Paryzek (200fr, 500fr, 1000fr, 1650fr, 100fly, 200fly) all made times qualifying them to swim individual events in Orlando, Florida this March. We also have a qualifying 200 medley relay with Brian Burns who hopes to make his own individual event.

It may be chilly outside, but that shouldn't stop you from going to YoTini's Frozen Yogurt Bar for another TCAC fundraiser! 4-8pm on Wednesday the 19th! Tell everyone you know!

Parents! Looking for a new hobby? Virginia Swimming needs more stroke and turn judges! If you are interested in volunteering your services, please let us know.
